I work for local gov in the UK, we purchased a copy of server standard 2008 x 64 with hyper visor to test out. Install was great, no problems but I am getting a bucket load of errors when trying to use the various snapins, in particular;
Server manager - not accessible
Event Viewer - not accessible
Task Scheduler - not accessible
Computer Management - parts work
Component Services - not accessible
Can't access add /remove windows components which is really annoying!

I keep getting the MMC error, unload plugin etc - becuase I can't access event viewer I can't see what's going on.
the error message from the MMC is
                                                      Unhandled Exception in managed code snap in

These work fine;
AD Computer and Users
DHCP
DNS
Storage Explorer is fine
Share and Storage management
Services
Reliability and Performance manager
Print Management
Local Security Policy

 I'm supposed to be evaluating the server system for future rollout..................................I've reinstalled twice and get exactly the same errors.
 To be clear this is a bog standard install, nothing clever, we just wanted a peek but without being able to access the fundamentals it's not really a goer! Thank you in advance
