From the 2008 server, I want to administar users and groups or even look at the services. Once signed into the Server, I will click start, then right click on "manage" the "Server manager" comes up I right click the server "Server manager (Servername) then from the drop down menu I click "connect to another computer" I then add the PC name and then click ok, it thinks for one second, then an error comes up. I want this feature to work, because this way I can easily go across the LAN and not have to worry about time and any bandwidth issues. I was able to do this in every version of server before Windows 2008, but now I have to do this from my PC. I can access the Windows 7 PC's with MY PC since I have domain admin rights, and I can access them with older versions of Windows, 200, 2003, etc. It would be a TREMENDOUS help to get this issue resolved, it will save me a lot of time and headache. I know I am gong to need to use it more and more.
Thank you in advance.
I tried to post the image(s) but no go until my account can be verified. The message saysServer Manager cannot connect to (PC name) Click retry...
The details say, Connecing to the remote server failed wit hthe following error message: The client canot connect to the destination specified in the request. Verify that the service on the destination is
and is accepting requests. Consult the logs and documentatuion for WS-Management service running on the destination, most commonly IIS or WinRM. If the destination is the WinRM service, run the following command on the destination to analyze and configure
the WinRM service "winrm quickconfig" (WHICH I DID) made no difference
