I've been having this problem since I installed server 2008 R2. It was working previously on the same DC, but I had reinstalled server 2008 R2 a few times, and somewhere down the line the BPA stopped working.
I am getting the following error message when I try to scan the DNSServer Role.
"The Best Practice Analyzer scan has failed.
"There has been a Best Practice Analyzer engine error for Model Id: 'Microsoft/Windows/DNSServer' during execution of the Model. (Inner Exception: One or more model documents are invalid: {0}Discovery execption occurred processing file '{0}'.
'.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 746.)
Can anyone help me with this, I've tried searching all over the net, but no one seems to have documented this error. All I have come accross are the similar BPA engine error for the File Services role.
