Unable to run the batch file using task scheduler to create mapped drive using two different domain usernames

I logged the windows 2000 server with username (xxxx) with domain (ABCD),
I want to mapped drive with username (xxxx) with domain(WXYZ). username is same but server logged domain and mapped drive domain is different.
I created batch file and written below in the batch file
"net use x: \\server\share /user:domain\username password
(net use x: \\myserver.sbc.com\app /user:wxyz\xxxx yyyy)".
I ran the batch file manually and it is working fine. But when I ran the batfile using task scheduler it can't created mapped drive.

Please find below steps that I followed.
1. Add Task scheduler.
2. Browse the file (C:\mapdrive.bat)
3. Start in (C"\)
4. Run as Domain\username (abcd\xxxx)
5. Schedule task (daily)
6. Power Management ( checked "Don't Start task if computer is running on               batteries"
Checked "Stop the task if batter mode begins.)
7. Given full control access to local domain (abcd\xxxx) and administrator)
8. Run the task scheduler but It can't work.

I have changed the Run as filed as Domain\username (WXYZ\xxxx) but still I can't mapped drive. Please assist on this issue.

Server Manager 2012 : Configuration refresh failed with the following error: Invalid class

When we start Server Manager on Server 2012 the flag lights up Red almost immediately with the error:

Configuration refresh failed with the following error: Invalid class.

What we’ve tried so far:

sfc /scannow  [reported no errors]

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth [Completed to 100% ]

Get-windowsfeature returns: Invalid class

This is a file/print server, running DFS.   When running DFS Management from Server Manager we don’t see the Replication section at the bottom. We can run MMC and manually add DFS Management then Replication shows up.

Where do I look to start diagnosing this error?

Windows Server not connecting to network

---not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this question, if it is not the correct forum, please point me to the correct forum --

We have a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP 2 acting as one of two Domain Controller on a Dell PowerEdge (I am not in the office right now so I do not know what model) 2.5 GHz, 4 GB RAM.

The other day I was asked by the IT department at HQ to reboot the DC server since they could not access it.

Once it was rebooted, one of the IT guys asked me to reboot it again, he got kicked out of the server and could not get back in.

I don't know what he was looking at while the server was rebooting however he told me that at one point while the server was coming up he saw that it connected to the network however it disappeared.

I can log in to the server directly, but I have not network connection even though the network connections says it is connected, there are sent and receive packets that I can see in the Network Connection properties.

There are 2 Ethernet ports (LAN connections), one was enabled and the other was disabled.

I have tried 3 different (working) network cables on the enabled Ethernet port and still can not connect to the network.

Disabled the Ethernet port (LAN Connection) that was enabled and enabled the one that was disabled and tried all three network cables and still no connection to the network.

Also, moved the cable from one port on the Cisco switch to another to see if the port was bad and still could not connect to the network.

directly connected the server to our modem, to see if the IT guy can directly connect to the server and he could not. (we changed the IP address so that he could try to remote into it)

Also ran Microsoft FIXIT program and that did not work.

I was going to try a system restore until I realized there is not system restore on Windows Server 2003.

I could be wrong on this however I believe the Ethernet port (cards) are failing.  The lights Ethernet ports  on the left side is a solid green light, on the right side is a blinking amber light.  it is not blinking as fast as the other domain controller Ethernet port amber light.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated to help solve this problem.

if more information is needed please ask away.

Thanks so much,

Robin

NFS Mount question

Hello All,

I have this question regarding NFS Mount.

I have windows Server 2008 R2, and I am supposed to pull a folder from a Unix Box.

I have installed the "SERVICES FOR NETWORK FILE SYSTEM (NFS)" in my windows machine by going to ADMIN TOOLS -> SERVER MANGER and then ROLES and then adding the "services for NFS"

So, now I have the

CLIENT FOR NFS and SERVER FOR NFS on my Windows machine.

Do we need to anything on the Unix machine. I mean, it is a different group that takes care of the Unix server from where I need to get data from (map to).

I believe they need to share the folder \\unixserver\inter\Actual

The folder in question is ACTUAL. Does the Unix people need to do an "NFS SHARE" or something so that I can mount the folder from my Windows machine?

Or is there something else I need to do from my side?

Thanks

VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C ( Not able to open disk management )

Hi,

This is happening on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1  server.  When we try to open Disk Management it would stay there  with a message " connecting to virtual disk service "  and after a while the message changes to " Unable to connect to Virtual disk service ".

The disk management view stays blank with no drives shown in it.  And the following error is registered in System event log --  " VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C "

The VDisk service is set to manual and stopped as it is supposed to be.

An application called  " PI System " is installed on the server.  We noticed that if we stop the " PI Application services " and reboot the server the disk management opens up fine.   Has any one faced this or a similar situation.  Thanks in advance for the help :)

i need a password to have administrative rights on my laptop

To whom it may concern:

My name is Pamela Turpin. I am the current owner of this laptop, which is an HP G60-243DX Notebook PC. My Uncle Ken was the first owner. He gave it to my Uncle Mike when he bought a better laptop. I am a college student, so when my Uncle Mike got a new laptop, he gave me this for school. I am having issues with the computer and I cannot resolve them because I don't have administrative rights, even though I am logged in as an administrator. It tells me I cannot get rid of dangerous add ons and other things because of this. The whole computer, including when I turn in assignments, comes up as MICHAEL/Ken. I have owned this computer for years. I need to be the only owner and have it set so that I may be able to make decisions and have my own password. I have had a lot of trouble because of this issue and I need it resolved if possible. Please get back to me as soon as possible. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Pamela Turpin

Scheduled task won't run .bat file

$

Hi. On Windows Server 2008 I have a scheduled task that calls a .bat file. The fist step in the .bat file is write to a log file to the same directory in which the .bat file exists. This allows me to find out if it is ever run. When the .bat file is run from a command prompt it runs as expected writing to the log file and completing its actions. My problem is that when I run the scheduled task manually or allow it to run when scheduled it appears to run but the .bat file is never run. No log file is ever created. The History tab in the properties of the scheduled tasks shows the task being started and running then completing with an operation code of 2. I've disabled the UAC for the user account. I've set the task to run as the Administrator user and verified the permissions for that user. I know the password is correct for the task because I can make changes to the properties and save those changes with the username/password. I'm at a loss for further troubleshooting steps. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out why these .bat files are not being run?
