We have setup few scheduled task under windows Task Scheduler. These process is set to open firefox instance and run a url.

The process runs but never gets completed and it returns (0x103) code. These tasks are set to run under 'administrator' account.

When I run these urls manually on same server in firefox browser it completes execution in few mins time.

I have had some issues with the hard drives in one of my virtual disks.

It appears that there are SMART errors on both disks (it consists only of 2 disks) so I've first moved all data to my second virtual dis. Once that was finished I removed the virtual disk using the server manager.

It was there that I made a big mistake: I didn't notice that the wrong storage pool was selected and so removed the wrong virtual disk. So now I only can access the wrong virtual disk (the one with the 2 faulty disks).

I've searched for a solution to fix this but until now I haven't found a way to repair the damage I've done.

I'm hoping someone here can help me to recover this virtual disk as it contains a lot of valuable data.

Hi Guys, i have brought another issue with the DNS. Please find the following image. I have multiple sites and following child domains. Each domain has multiple DC's.
Parent: Root.net has (Root_DC1 & Root_DC2)

Chile: Child1-no.Root.net(Child1_DC1 & Child1_DC2), Child2-DK.Root.net, Child3-SW.Root.net and Child4-BB.Root.net.
All DC's are in different sites.

I have opened a DNS mgmt on root.net dc under forward lookup zone _MSDCS_Root.net i have opened a NS record which list all DC's servers. What i have observed  is in that list 2 of the DC's is showing unknown. Please check the screenshot.

** I didn't see any replication issue.
** All DC's are properly listing
** Didn't find any DNS errors
** Resolving all DNS queries.

Am observing all my clients users and machines all are getting authenticated by other DC's (RODC)
We have provided Primary and secondary DNS Child1_DC1 & Child1_DC2 server ip address and we dont have wins configuration
As per the concept all clients and users should get authenticated bu DC1&DC2; this is how configured in sites and services.
But my users and system are getting authenticated to other DC Child4-BB.Root.net. There is no where related.

Hi. On Windows Server 2008 I have a scheduled task that calls a .bat file. The fist step in the .bat file is write to a log file to the same directory in which the .bat file exists. This allows me to find out if it is ever run. When the .bat file is run from a command prompt it runs as expected writing to the log file and completing its actions. My problem is that when I run the scheduled task manually or allow it to run when scheduled it appears to run but the .bat file is never run. No log file is ever created. The History tab in the properties of the scheduled tasks shows the task being started and running then completing with an operation code of 2. I've disabled the UAC for the user account. I've set the task to run as the Administrator user and verified the permissions for that user. I know the password is correct for the task because I can make changes to the properties and save those changes with the username/password. I'm at a loss for further troubleshooting steps. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out why these .bat files are not being run?

Hello,

I wrote a powershell script to modify more than a hundred registry keys at once.
The keys modified are supposed to set GPO rules.
I am working on a 2008 R2 server.

The script does the work and modifies HKLM.
It modifies and creates registry keys and path.

But once i reboot, i get the following error :

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Technical information : STOP : 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003,0xFFFFFA801943F740,0xFFFFFA801943FA20,0xFFFFF8000199B0D0)"

At this step, it is impossible for me to make my windows work again, so i created a windows backup save after a fresh install.

Is there something i should know about editing the registry with powershell that does not allow to modify properly my GPO list ?

Does anyone have an idea how i could solve my problem ?

PS : i am going to test every registry key separately to see if one of them makes the problem happen

We have a Dell Precision M4800 installed with Windows Server 2012 R2, and we are unable to get the Server Manager working. When we click on ServerManager, the below error occurs,

Error Message: ServerManager.exe - This application could not be started.

Action Taken:

1. Windows Updates, and Windows Security Updates are up-to-date, rebooted

2. Display Drivers are updated, rebooted

3. .NET Framework 4.5.2 is updated, rebooted

Still the same error. Please assist.

The issue is as follows,

Freshly we have installed Exchange Server 2013 in Windows Server 2012 Standard R2.

Mails are receiving from 3rd Party vendors server so we have installed POPcon software to fetch the emails from the vendor server and download in our office server.

The major issue is - POPcon is able to download all emails from vendor's server but downloaded emails are not displaying in outlook [ Exchange Server is not Fetching emails from POPcon software ]

Kindly Help me out with this issue, if any further details required means please let me know.

Win 2008 Server - need to change system local on Windows Server 2008 from en-ZA 1c09 to en-US 0409

I have a Windows 2012 server with the following rolls. AD, DNS, File and Print Services, and a couple others. I am trying to remove AD from this server but when I go thru the process of uninstalling it from the wizard all of the installed Rolls and Features are greyed out. I can install additional rolls and features that are not all ready installed however.

I have spent 2 days searching but no luck. I am logged on local as an administrator. This is not the last ad server on our network.

I met a strange issue today , I build a new Windows server 2016 VM use vhd file in hyper-v and run some scripts to add this VM into a domain. After that I want to add some roles , then I found all of the Server Roles cannot be checked.

Then I tried to use powershell get the features status, all the features show NotPresent install state like below

i hope that you and your family are fine. i'm not sure that i can explain clearly my problem but i try anymore, 

i have already a windows server 2008 R2 installed in a physical server (Workstation). Want to test Windows Server 2012 R2, i m installing it (WS2012R2) in a virtual machine using VMware Workstation.

All is fine, i'm installed my windows server correctly and i have access to it. The problem occurs when i try to put him (windows server 2012 R2) in the network. I explain :

Our small network contain 10 pcs, 1 servers and 9 hosts. We use the range 192.168..1.x of adresses to configure our hosts with the mask 255.255.255.0. The server (Windows Server 2008 R2) effectively have an adress like 192.168.1.1.

My problem is here, when i'm installed WS2012R2 in the virtual machine, i will configure him ! i try the gives him a static ip adress, it's good i can assign a fixed adress to my novel server (WS2012R2)(of cours an adress like 192.168.1.x, same class and same network) , BUT when i try to join my physical server for example, I CAN'T join him ! 

PS : When i assign adress dynamicaly to my newer server WS2012R2 (Wich is in the VMware), all is fine, i can communicate with other hosts and i have access to Internet too !

My question : 

• It is the Domain Controller who bloc communication ?
• Can i have too servers in a same network ? if Yes, should i have 2 Domain name ? Or 2 Domain controllers ?

Excuse my little knowledge about servers but i really need some information because i am trying to learn how the things works for configuring WS2012R2 in an entreprise.
